a 501(c)(3)
The Cancer Patient (TCP) started as a satirical instagram meme account. With over 100k followers on Instagram, TCP provides a sense of community for cancer patients, survivors, and their supporters. As a nonprofit organization, we aim to fill the gaps that other cancer organizations overlook. Through memes, shared experiences, and vulnerability, TCP brings humor and connection to patients.
In addition to the wit and levity shared on Instagram, in our podcast, and through our newsletter, we are creating space to foster relationships and advocate for mental health. With access to virtual support groups, in-person social events, online forums, and more, TCP provides opportunities for young adults affected by a cancer diagnosis to connect with others who intimately understand the journey. As is often said in the cancer community – this is the worst club with the best members.
Community
While The Cancer Patient primarily focuses on supporting young adult cancer patients, TCP community is open to patients, survivors, and caregivers of any age. The cancer fam is united by a brush with death and an appreciation for dark humor.
Resources
The Cancer Patient organization aims to equip our community with the resources needed for comprehensive, whole-person care. Through mental health education, peer support groups, advocacy training, and collaboration with healthcare professionals in oncology, TCP is committed to helping cancer patients attain the best possible quality of life, from diagnosis and beyond.
